Is a home elevator worth the cost compared to a stair lift?

Home elevators offer several advantages over stairlifts. First is the higher weight capacity that home elevators provide, accommodating not just individuals, but also wheelchair users, multiple passengers simultaneously, and easily carrying items like groceries, laundry, or suitcases.

Additionally, home elevators eliminate the discomfort of standing or sitting near stairs, providing a safer and more comfortable experience for users of all ages. Stairlifts also tend to block most of a stairwell, making them difficult to use for others.

  • In the case of loss of hydraulic pressure, a rupture valve automatically stops the elevator

  • In the case of a mechanical issue on the elevator itself, above a certain speed an automatic mechanical brake is applied that stops the elevator

What does your warranty include?

Can I remove a staircase to install a Home Elevator?

Short answer: Maybe. Yes, you can remove a staircase to install a home elevator, but it requires careful planning. Key factors include ensuring proper egress, as building codes mandate at least two escape routes from upper floors, and accommodating the larger footprint of an elevator shaft compared to standard stairs. You’ll also need to consider space for the machine room to house essential components like the pump and control systems. Each of these factors must comply with safety and building regulations.
